Jim Johnson took the mound Saturday night to a mixed flurry of cheers and boo’s as he came on to pitch in front of a sellout crowd in the Orioles 6-3 win. He struggled and exited after one inning giving up a 2-run homer to David Lough. Jim Johnson played for the O’s for 8 seasons, leading the MLB in saves in 2012 and 2013 and setting the single-season Orioles saves record at 51.

MLB.com released an update on the 2014 All-Star game voting which showed the Orioles’ Nelson Cruz passing David Ortiz for the DH spot with 888,855 votes compared to Big Papi’s 766,631. His league-leading 20 homers and 51 RBIs have helped him pass the perennial All-Star in addition to his .314/.384/.672 line.
